Leekes Create New Partnership With Modplan

The Leekes Conservatory and Window department are excited to announce a new partnership with local uPVC manufacturer and supplier, Modplan. After a long and successful relationship with the current uPVC window frame supplier for 19 years, Leekes have now joined forces with Modplan to improve our customer experience and expand the Leekes glazing department even further.

After travelling the country and researching various suppliers and manufacturers, the team have chosen the local South Wales firm to be the main supplier for all windows, selected doors and conservatories.

Last year Leekes fitted over 10,000 windows, and the department reached a turnover of over £15M. The new partnership aims to grow this volume and turnover significantly over the next couple of years.

The new partnership goes a lot further than just a product supply deal. Leekes have invested to build an exclusive manufacturing factory on Modplan’s already established site. This means full control of the product we use and importantly the opportunity for Leekes to specify the very best components, making sure we truly deliver the best windows we possibly can to our Leekes customers. All of these new products will also come with Yale locks and a lifetime security guarantee for complete peace of mind, as well as the standard 10 year guarantees which now includes handles and furniture.

The new uPVC product chosen, Halo System 10, is from the Veka Group which is the world number 1 profile and part of the largest uPVC network in the world. Modplan have been manufacturing windows, doors and conservatories for over 40 years and have enjoyed a partnership with Veka since the mid 1990’s. As well as this, Veka, Modplan and Leekes are all family run companies still run by the original families, so with Leekes’ local experience, Veka’s place in the uPVC market and Modplan’s manufacturing expertise it’s a fantastic team of local family companies based in South Wales.

Frank Richardson Glazing Sales Manager said ‘This decision wasn’t just based on the product itself, but a number of positive reasons; having more control over the manufacturing of our own windows and doors only a few miles from our head office can only be a good thing for service, quality and increased volume. It’s also testament to our name and brand that Modplan have put their faith in our reliability and have invested heavily with us on this project.’
