Bifold Doors – Connecting with the Outside

Bifold doors are an excellent option to allow natural light flood your home and bring your garden closer. This is especially important for the UK weather as even cloudy skies can bring natural light inside if given the right space. The stylish frames and aperture of the bifold doors create over 90% clear opening, offering a functional space for working, lounging or relaxing in the garden. They work very well as a fantastic alternative to classic patio doors, French doors or sliding doors, or as an elegant element to add to your house interior design.

Our Leekes bifold doors offer a new lifestyle solution that perfectly binds the internal and external spaces of your home. When closed, these doors let the light in and provide an ideal security for your home and when opened, they allow you to extend your living space and enjoy your garden at the same time. The system is ideal for large rooms and offers you an extensive space and a modern and contemporary style. The concertina-shaped doors allow you to open your house to the garden and terrace, or to level the boundary between the two areas.

When choosing a design for your bifold doors, you’ll need to measure the size of the aperture and the tracks and also consider the size of the wall and the door usability. You want to make sure the design complements the style of your house, as well as fulfilling all security standards. Bifold doors successfully combine functionality and elegance, offering you total peace of mind when it comes to security as well.

We specialise in working with two types of materials for the bifold doors: aluminium and uPVC. However, depending on the size and design, we are able to combine anything from two folding panels to six panels, making sure that we meet your needs entirely. We are not happy unless you are 100% happy.

Leekes aluminium bifold doors connect internal and external spaces with impressive opening apertures to create unique living and social spaces. Available from two to six panes in a variety of opening sequences, they are designed to suit your exact needs. These folding doors replace entire walls to make the most of stunning views. With over 40 colour options, from traditional to contemporary finishes, plus dual colour options available, our doors can be created to match any home.

Designed and manufactured in the UK from strong, durable aluminium, all our aluminium bifold doors are fully weather sealed and come equipped with black finger guards. Our doors also come fitted with multi-point locks as standard for enhanced security. Regardless of the size opening you wish to create, from smaller two-panel installations to larger features, all our aluminium bifold doors are effortlessly opened with the help of sliding sashes on four stainless steel rollers, allowing you to bring the outside into your home in seconds. The fittings can have single door or multiple door openings, depending on the size of your wall.

uPVC (Unplasticised Polyvinylchloride) is a material widely used in the construction industry, popular with both replacement doors and windows. Traditionally, it used to be one of the most popular options for conservatory and home extension roofs as well. Its popularity is given by the flexibility, lightweight body and low maintenance, as well as the lower costs associated with the use of uPVC.

uPVC bifold doors are both versatile and aesthetically pleasing and are the ideal replacement for your pre-existing patio doors or French doors. The large glass panes mean that bifold doors allow in more natural light. They are also a more affordable option, best suitable for small to medium-sized fittings. The uPVC naturally expands and contracts slightly (around 3mm), depending on the weather and ambient temperature, so for larger constructions we recommend opting for our aluminium bifold doors.

uPVC bifold doors are very flexible and customisable in terms of door options. The multi-chamber construction of the uPVC frame combined with the high-performance double glazing also ensure excellent insulation. You can choose between two and six door options in a wide range of colours.

Internal bifold doors, also called concertina doors or internal folding doors, are a great feature in adding openness and flexibility inside, allowing plenty of natural light flowing from one room to another. They’re a beautiful modern touch to your space, both separating and bringing together two rooms. You can choose from endless opportunities when looking for an internal folding door, but there can be certain limitations especially when it comes to your living space.

You can choose to create a glass partition wall if you want an entire wall replaced by a folding door with large glass panels, or scale down to a two-pane or three-pane bifold door for a chic alternative to a classic door option. If your house doesn’t allow much room for a full-size bifold door, we can also offer custom made space-saving bifold door solutions the same width as a traditional door.

As an alternative to classic patio doors, external bifold doors add the WOW factor to your house and bring the garden closer, connecting you to the outside. They can be a great addition to your conservatory as well, turning it into an oasis of natural light.

Our range of bifold doors also includes dual-colour options, so you can match perfectly both the interior and exterior of your house. The doors come fitted with multi-point lock systems which means a safe and secure option for you.
